After more than 2 years of research and development JOES Racing Products has engineered “DRYAIR”, the dryer that works for both compressed air and nitrogen. DRYAIR utilizes a specialized formula of desiccant with the drying capacity of 2½ times its weight. The specialized desiccant creates more surface area effectively drying air or gas in high humidity atmosphere as well as low temperature conditions. DRYAIR is the most effective humidity control at the track or in the shop. Contains 43 in3 of desiccant, (2) ⅜″ NPT safety couplers and (2) ¼″ NPT industrial air hose fittings. The DRYAIR is direction non-specific and can be easily mounted to a wall either horizontally or vertically utilizing the JOES Fire Extinguisher Bracket (12830) Refill desiccant kits are available.
- How long before I need to use a refill kit? Answer: This is 100% dependent on how much you use your dry air system and the humidity of where you’re racing. Teams located in the Southeast with muggy, hot conditions will use the refill kit far more often than a team in the northern great plains, with colder, already dryer air conditions that races at the same frequency.
- When will I know to use the refill kit? Answer: The desiccant changes color from its natural blue to an almost white.
- Won’t I be spending a bunch of money on refill packs to keep my system working over the years? Answer: Not at all! You can bake the moisture out of your desiccant and have usable dry air refills at the ready. We suggest having a refill kit on the ready at all times. When your desiccant needs changed, remove the old desiccant from the DryAir and use the refill pack to fill it up, giving you a functioning DryAir. Take the used desiccant and spread it evenly on a cookie sheet. Bake on low temp until it returns to its normal blue color. Let cool and then add to a Ziploc bag until needed.
- Does it matter how I mount it in the trailer? Answer: No. Vertical or Horizontal, it makes zero difference.
- Does it matter which end I attach to which hose? Answer: No. Use either side for either hose.
